Star Wars: A Galaxy Divided, Session Zero
We kicked off session zero to A Galaxy Divided, our new Force & Destiny campaign.
A couple weeks back, we only had one player available, Eric, but he wouldn’t be available in the coming weeks, so he came over with a character concept already in the works. He brought a printout for a race I haven’t seen in any of the books, a Miralukan. For those who don’t know, the Miralukans are blind near-humans, born without eyes, but able to see with the Force.
The great thing is, I know all about Miralukans, because one of the members of the Iron Dawn, Kami’atra, is a Miralukan! I’ve been playing with a Miralukan at my table since the 90’s. So I was happy to see one here. Eric chose to make them a Consular, and chose the Seer specialization. His emotional strength is love, while his weakness is jealousy. He’ll have to struggle with this as the campaign progresses. He’s able to sense the emotional states of those around him with the Sense Force ability. sHe was drawn to Rey’s school across the galaxy, leaving his people behind, who have been in hiding since the Jedi purge.
Then, last Thursday, we had Bridget, Matt and Caleb all gather to create their characters. Bridget decided to also go with a Consular, but chose the Teacher specialization. She’s an Arkanian who has spent years travelling the galaxy hunting for old relics of the Jedi, who she believed to be extinct. She has begun training in the Move Force ability, allowing her to move smaller items around (for now).
Matt decided to create a human Sentinel, with a dual specialization of both Sentry and Shien Expert, so he’s good with a lightsaber.
Finally, we have Caleb, who came up with a full backstory before he arrived. He’s a Chiss orphan raised by Jawas, so he’s good with mechanics. He chose to go with Sentinel as well, with both the Artificer and Racer specializations. He has a droid companion, so I allowed him to spend 5xp to gain an ability where when he uses a destiny die to step up a die, he also adds a boost die to represent it helping him out.
This should be a really fantastic group! We kick off session 1 this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing how these character interact.
