Betrayal: Legacy Is Coming in 2018
I love Betrayal at House on the Hill. I’ve owned the 1st Edition since it first came out (so much so that I have the legendary Pool-On-The-Roof edition). I haven’t upgraded to 2nd Edition, because I haven’t gotten anywhere near through all of the scenarios to justify picking it and Widow’s Walk. I’m also a fan of Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate, as you’ve seen.
Today, at PAX Unplugged, Avalon Hill announced their partnership with Rob Daviau, the designer of Risk: Legacy and Pandemic: Legacy, to create Betrayal: Legacy (see the pattern?)
Betrayal: Legacy will feature an ever-evolving game, with a 13-game campaign where characters will evolve over the course of decades. Characters will die, and new characters appear. There’s a great explanation over at BoardGameGeek, but needless to say, I’m really, really excited for this. I’ve wanted to pick up the other Legacy games, but I just haven’t. This one may actually make me pull the trigger.
