Gabe’s First D&D Character

A few days ago, my 9-year-old, Gabe, approached me. “Dad, can we play Dungeons and Dragons?” It has begun. He wants to play the game he’s been watching his mom and dad play for years!

I brought it up on Twitter, and Liam, who will be DMing our Curse of Strahd campaign, suggested Gabe join us for our campaign. I had planned on just running a solo campaign for him, since he’s new to the game. Having him play with us, however, works out even better. Both Bridget and I will be playing PCs, so we’ll be able to sit along side him and help him play.

So Gabe and I sat down and made his character. We walked our way through character creation, and he made Gabriel Starflower, a Wood Elf Rogue Outlander.

Bridget and I are excited to share our hobby with our son. He’s excited to throw dice and stay up late on Thursday nights.

I’ll keep you updated on how it goes.
