Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: The Civil War Books

The Marvel Heroic RPG is just around the corner. Amazon has, for preorder, a few of the books that are coming. You can also order the first book from Margaret Weis Productions directly. I’m sure you can preorder elsewhere (if you know where, let me know in the comments), but Amazon is the most prominent way.

In the last Dice Monkey Radio episode, Cam explained how the books would be released, and I spoke about it before, but now you can actually see which specific books, and their breakdown.

The first book to be released is the Marvel Heroic Roleplay Basic Game. This features the core rules (known as the Operations Manual), as well as a mini-event, which depicts New Avengers #1-6.

Following this, there will be the various Events. With Civil War releasing first, those are the ones you can find on Amazon.

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Civil War Event Book Essentials will feature the Event without the Operations Manual, so that if you’ve got the Basic Game, you don’t need the extra rules inside.

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Civil War Event Book Premium will have the Operations Manual included, so that you can have all your rules in the same place.

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Civil War – 50 States Initiative is an Event Supplement, which will, presumably feature other teams from across the country. I’m looking forward to seeing if California’s team, The Order, will be in there. I really enjoyed the storyline of new teams forming, and the plot works great for anyone wanting to run a superhero game in their own state.

Cam mentioned on the podcast that there would also be an X-Men book for the Civil War released, so I’ll keep my eyes peeled for that.
