Considering the spike in views yesterday, along with a lot of excited comments, I’m going to do this.
First of all, let me start right off the bat: This is not going to be in a “Home Encounters” format. No “one encounter-a-week” thing. The design will be as an adventure for heroes of 5th Level.
Secondly, the Encounter format of “encounter-after-encounter” is also going to be ditched. I want to introduce a lot more roleplay and investigation into the game, with some interesting skill challenges, and some specific encounters I wanted to see go into the game that didn’t make the cut.
Also, I’ll be redesigning the whole thing from the ground up. Previous encounters are going to be reimagined, but still using the idea behind the encounters, such as the Orcs with Eladrin sigils and things like that.
I plan on fleshing this out as much as possible, to give DMs and players everything they need to run a successful game.
The game is going to be designed for players who are new to the game to be able to easily get in and play, but I’m going to do some interesting things with skill challenges and encounters to make it a bit of a different experience than people have seen before.
I’d like to thank Quinn Murphy and Enrique Bertran for their blessing to continue to work on this. I hope I can live up to the hype we generated a few months ago.
