Look, I know how it goes. You have a life. You have friends. You have obligations that require your time. Sometimes during the week you just don’t have enough time to plan out your weekly RPG. I know the feeling because I have been there.
Whether you have just personal obligations that get in the way of your gaming or you’re suffering from burn out, sometimes you just need the chance to hang out with your friends and not have to worry about the game. This is where ‘You Don’t Know Jack’ (YDKJ) comes in.
I was cruising the electronics section of my local Juneau Fred Meyer recently when I saw this game shining down upon me from the Playstation 3 section. I gasped and took hold of my Fiancé and asked, “Do you see what I see?”
“No,” she said.
“Look!” I pointed up. “It’s ‘You Don’t Know Jack’!”
“Umm, yeah, Ok”.
“Oh my God. You have never played this have you?”
“Nope.”
“Well it’s only 30 bucks. Lets get it. You will love it! It will be legendary!”
I went to grab the ONE #$%@^ CLERK that was working the electronic section of Fred Meyer to open the locked glass PS3 case. “This is so great,” I said to my Fiancé. “It’s about time they took good games I used to play on my Mac in the mid 90s and ported them over to the
PS3!”
As we walked out of the electronics section I noticed that they had this new version of YDKJ available for the Xbox, Wii, Nintendo DS, and
PC. (No Mac version? Really?)

YDKJ presents it self as a TV game show. It’s been updated since the mid 1990s version. One to four players tray to answer 10 rounds of questions. The questions are all multiple choice questions. The faster you answer each question the more money you stand to win or lose.
What I think separates this game from others is the sarcastic humor. It is very laugh out loud funny and entertaining. It’s the perfect game for a group of gamers who for whatever reason can’t play their normal RPG.
