Game Store Review: Unique Gifts and Games in Grayslake, IL

Bridget and I decided to check out a FLGS today, and took a half hour trip over to the village of Grayslake to see Unique Gifts and Games.
Located in the historic district of the village, Unique Gifts and Games is a fantastic little shop with a huge selection.
Well organized rows of board and card games, as well as 3d terrain and RPG books makes it one of the best game shops I’ve been to in a long time.
They’ve got a good selection of paints, as well as a fully stocked Reaper Miniatures section. Bridget ended up picking up an Arabian-themed sword-dancer type of figure for a possible upcoming Dark Sun game, as well as a small paint brush, while I picked up the 3rd Dresden Files book.
They’ve got a good selection of RPG books, including Dr. Who, Shadowrun and D&D, of the books I saw. They’ve got a ton of non-gaming books as well.
They have a small open gaming section in the back, which I would love to play on.
The lady who was working there this morning was very friendly and knowledgeable, talking to us about Dresden Files, Free RPG Day, and about how to get ourselves into watching Dr. Who.
If you’re up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, it’s a shop that’s definitely worth checking out.
