Lunch-Time Campaign: Mouse Guard

After previously sending out the email asking my buddies what to do for a lunch-time campaign, I mentioned Mouse Guard to one of them. He jumped at it.
“We have to play Mouse Guard,” he said. Mind you, he’s never read the books or anything, but he remembers me describing it to him. I mentioned Mouse Guard to another player, and he said, “why didn’t we think of that in the first place?”
I guess Mouse Guard it is.
Yesterday, during work, the first guy and I sat down and hashed out his character, a grizzled veteran of the guard who believes he should be patrol leader, but keeps getting passed up by younger mice.
The other guy and I conceptualized his character, but haven’t finished making it. He’ll be a young tenderpaw who carries a large axe, dreaming of becoming just like the Black Axe, a legendary Guardmouse of old.
I still need to get with two other players and decide what direction they’re going to go with their characters, but it looks like it’s going to be a really good game with some really enthusiastic guys.
I’m looking forward to it, as it is currently my favorite game I’ve never played, and I’ll finally alleviate that.
I’ll keep you all updated on progress.
