Dynamic group changes

Every so often, a group will go through some dramatic shifts in players. At first, there’s only one person who can’t make it, then they can’t make it frequently, then they drop out altogether. Soon, you have players dropping left and right, until you have maybe one or two players besides yourself left.

So what do you do?

Some groups continue in the campaign they were running, picking up new players as they go. Others simply drop the campaign and begin anew. There are some unfortunate souls who see it happen, get discouraged, and simply quit playing altogether.

Don’t.

It happens to every group. I’ve had it happen a few times in the past. We tend to start up a new campaign. I use it as an opportunity to run something different that I’ve been mulling over in my head for a while.

Dynamic group changes are the perfect time for some fresh blood and some fresh ideas.
