I’ve posted up the prologue and the first two chapters of the novel I’m writing online here. I plan on also developing my world as a 4e supplement, which will be seen there as well. Please comment and let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Do you prefer critiques to be here or on the page itself? I’ll just give generalities for now, until I know for sure.
To start, I’ve got a few questions about the order of things. Is it really necessary to skip back and forth in perspective like that? Are the ancient myths, lovely though they are, relevant to the story you’re telling now? Or more importantly, will they be relevant within the next chapter or two?
I’ll admit, I’m slightly turned off by the epic tone permeating the story; I lost my taste for it in a battle with I forget what a while back. It makes sense when you’re telling the divine legends, and its use or lack of use could make a great way of distinguishing between the old legends and the now-time. But having it right the way through gets a bit overwhelming, and to some people (myself particularly) makes it sound like you’re trying a bit too hard.
I’ll comment more when I’ve had a chance to do a closer read-through; this is mostly my initial impressions.
I’d prefer the comments over on the page itself.

I’m a bit confused as to the “Epic Tone” comment. Email me and give me an example. I’m always open for criticism. Thanks for the comment!
